Hike Appalachia Molly and Bailey Johnson ask you to complete your work with the user interface for the Blue Ridge database. To meet their request, complete the following steps:
1. Open the BlueRidge database you worked with in the previous three modules.
2. Open the tblTour table datasheet, use an AutoFilter to filter records using the Tour Type field for values of Hiking and Climbing, and then save and close the table.
3. Use Filter By Form with the tblHiker table to select all records in which the last name is Jackson or Smith and the state is NC or SC. Apply the filter, save the filter as a query named qryNameStateFilter, and then save and close the table.
4. Create a query named qry Tour 115 Subquery that selects all HikerlDs from the tbl Reservation table where the TourID is 115. Use SQL view to create a query named gry Tour 115Hiker that contains all fields from the tblHiker table for records whose HikerID is in the subquery qry Tour 115Subquery. Save and close the query.
5. Add an Attachment field named Documents to the end of the tblGuide table, using a Caption property setting of Medical Documents. Attach the documents Singh_1.txt and Singh_2.txt in the Access3 > Case4 folder to the Documents field for record 4 in the tblGuide table, and then close the table.
6. Add an Auto Number field named Hiker Num to the beginning of the tblSelectedReservation table, using a Caption property setting of Hiker Num and a New Values property setting of Increment. Specify the HikerNum field as the primary key. Save and close the table.
7. Use the Performance Analyzer to analyze the entire Blue Ridge database, but do not implement any of the analysis results. How many analysis results of the Recommendation type did the Performance Analyzer find? Of the Suggestion type? Of the idea type? If requested, record the answers in a Word document, and submit it to your instructor. Use the Performance Analyzer to implement any Suggestion task, and perform any subsequent task(s) required due to implementing the Suggestion(s). Close the Performance Analyzer dialog box.
8. Close the BlueRidge database without exiting Access, create a copy of the BlueRidge database in the Access3 > Case4 folder, and then rename the copy as Tours. Open the Blue Ridge database in the Access3 > Case4 folder, and then use the Database Splitter to split the Blue Ridge database Use the default name for the back-end database, and store it in the Access3 > Case4 folder.
9. Set the same database startup options for the Blue Ridge database that you set in Module 12 for the Veterinary database, using a value of Hike Appalachia Tours for the Application Title option.
10. Compact and repair the Blue Ridge database, close the Blue Ridge database without exiting! Access, open the Blue Ridge database, test all the navigation options, and then exit Access.
