Spoiler! This is a stock investing related project. If a person wants to invest in a stock but has no idea at which price entry they would go into then one strategy is to buy at a price where insiders buy. In short, the investor will keep his average cost close to the insider's average cost.
Why follow Insiders? It's simple. Insiders are those who work inside the company such as the chairman, directors, treasurers, auditors, and whatnot. They hold first-hand knowledge of what is going on inside the company. When an insider buys their company's share, it only means that they believe that the company is going to do great and that whatever the company is doing now will yield a good financial report. Once the report is published publicly, many investors will put a higher price on the stock because the company's value has increased. Of course, investors who bought earlier at a lower price have now gained profit.
In the Philippines Stock Exchange, insiders are mandated by law to publicly report their trading activities. However, there is no such publicly accessible database that collates all this information conveniently thus the reason why we created this project. This application will not query insider trading data but rather allows investors to save those data in which the application will give a short summary that helps them decide a price entry when buying a stock. The investor will have to be active on company disclosures and manually input insider trading data into the application.
