1. You are a graduate teaching assistant for Ridgedale College, a private college in the Midwest. To help the college better manage their course scheduling, you have created an Access database and are working on the forms, which make data entry easier and faster for others, and reports, which help you organize and analyze information.
Start working on these objects by opening the ProfessorEntry form in Design View to perform the following tasks:
a. Resize the ProfTitle text box to be the same size as the ProfLastName text box above it.
b. Move the Close command button so that the right edge of the command button is at the 6" mark on the horizontal ruler.
c. Add a label with the caption Ridgedale College to the Form Header section at the 3" mark on the horizontal ruler.
Save the ProfessorEntry form, switch to Form View as shown in Figure 1, then close the form.

2. Open the GrantEntry form in Design View and perform the following tasks:
a. Add the Department field to the form. Position the Department text box so that the left edge of the control aligns with the left edge of the other four text boxes.
b. Delete the Department label.
Save the GrantEntry form, view it in Form View, and then close it.
3. Use the Form Wizard to create a form based on the TeachingAssistants table with the following options:
a. Include all fields from the TeachingAssistants table in the form.
b. Select the Columnar layout for the form.
c. Enter TAEntry as the form title and then open it in Layout View.
4. With the TAEntry form open in Layout View, right-align the text in the four labels in the Detail section. Bold the four labels in the Detail section. Save the form and open it in Form View.
5. Use the TAEntry form to navigate to the record with TAID field value 8. Change the TAFirstName field value of this record, using Kathleen as the new value.
6. Use the TAEntry form to add a new record to the TeachingAssistants table with the field values shown in Table 1. (Hint: TAID is an AutoNumber field that will automatically increment.) Save and close the TAEntry form.

7. Open the HybridCourses form in Design View and perform the following tasks:
a. Delete the Ridgedale College label control in the Form Header.
b. Add the DeliveryMethod field to the form then position it just below the Professor Last Name label and text box.
c. Change the DeliveryMethod label to Delivery Method in the Detail section, and the HybridCourses label to Hybrid Courses in the Form Header section by adding a space between the words.
Save the HybridCourses form and close it.
8. Use the Report button to create a report based on the TeachingAssistants table. Save the report with the name TAList. With the report open in Layout View, change the label to Teaching Assistants in the Report Header section. Save the report.
9. With the TAList report still open in Layout View, update the TAFirstName label, using First Name as the new value, and update the TALastName label, using Last Name as the new value. Resize the height of the text box that counts the number of records in the left side of the Report Footer section to clearly display the count, 11 as shown in Figure 2. Save the report and close it.

10. Use the Report Wizard to create a report based on the Grants and Professors tables with the following options:
a. Include the GrantName and AverageAward fields from the Grants table and the ProfLastName from the Professors table in the report.
b. Use ProfLastName as the grouping field.
c. Sort the records by GrantName in ascending order.
d. Select Stepped as the layout and Portrait as the orientation.
e. Change the title of the report to GrantsByProfessor, and preview it.
Close the GrantsByProfessor report.
11. Open the SectionsByProfessor form in Layout View, open the property sheet, and perform the following tasks:
a. Change the border style of the Professor ID label to Transparent.
b. Change the font size of the Ridgedale College label in the Form Header to 20.
Save the SectionsByProfessor form and close it.
12. Open the TAClasses report in Design View and apply conditional formatting to the values in the DeliveryMethod text box so that if the field value is equal to online, the field's font color is set to red (row 7, column 2 on the Standard Colors palette) and the font is bold. Save the report.
13. With the TAClasses report still open in Design View, change the font color of the label in the Report Header section to dark blue (row 7 column 9 in the Standard Colors palette.) Save the TAClasses report, view it in Report View to review the changes, and close the report.
14. Open the ProfessorsByDepartment form in Design View and perform the following tasks:
a. Resize the width of the form to the 6.5" mark on the horizontal ruler.
b. Change the background color for the Professors by Department label in the Form Header section to Light Blue 2 (row 3 column 5 in Standard Colors palette).
c. Change the font for the Professors by Department label in the Form Header section to Georgia.
d. Use the Format Painter to copy the formatting from the Department ID label in the Detail section to the Department Name label in the Detail section.
Save the ProfessorsByDepartment form and close it.
15. Open the HybridList report in Layout View and apply the Georgia font scheme from the theme fonts to this object only. Save and close the report.
16. Open the ClassMasterList report in Layout View and perform the following tasks:
a. Change the layout of the report to Portrait.
b. Move the Credits column so that it appears between the ClassNo and Description columns.
Save the ClassMasterList report and close it.
17. Open the SectionEntry form in Design View and perform the following tasks:
a. Delete the =Date() and =Time() text boxes in the Form Header section.
b. Apply the Office Theme to this object only.
Save the SectionEntry form and close it.
